The incident occurred in Levittown on Sunday, June 9.
At about 2:30 a.m., the person broke into the victim’s home and hit her in the face with an unknown object, waking her up, Nassau County Police said.
The person then ran from the house in an unknown direction. The woman was taken to a local hospital.
No additional information is known about the suspect. Police said the information is ongoing.
